So The Certified Translation Fell Through

Dear Mr Jim,

I can understand that you requested the lodgement receipt to be interpreted in ENGLISH.
Already, take a very careful look at the certificate,it has an ENGLISH explanation.
STB Finance is an international bank operating in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire,so everything that they do, they always put the interest of the English people at heart.

Please, brother take a very good look at the lodgement certificate, you will see the ENGLISH interpretation at the same time.

I expect to read from you again, and to understand that you have cross checked the lodgement receipt again and again.

Looking forward to read your message.

Thanks and may God bless you and your entire family.
Regards,
Prince James Okoba.

My Latest Response

Someone from Russia has been reading this blog. Enjoy!

Now how am I going to bring this up to James Okoba that my group of investors cannot do anything with any document that is not accompanied by a certified translation? I got it! I'll just tell him directly and spice it up with a few non-sequiturs and things that make me look more like an idiot than I already am.

Later, I may have Jim refer Prince Okoba to Artemus Henderson from Fastrak Investments for optimal security purposes.

Dearest Brother Okoba,

Thank you very much for sending me the lodgement certificate. It is indeed a sign from God that you need help and I am sure we can come to a very good business arrangement with His blessing. Unfortunately at this time we cannot make any decisions based on documents that are not accompanied by a certified translation. I'm sure you understand and probably already have a copy on hand that you can send me.

As soon as we have the certified translation (English only please) we can begin making arrangements. Thank you very much Brother Okoba for your continued interest and I certainly hope we hear from you soon.

Yours in Christ,
Jim

My Impatience With Okoba Grows

James Okoba is unreliable. A full ten days have passed and he has still not gotten back to me with his identification. I think I am going to have to put some pressure on him. I really need a fake ID for my collection, and this teasing me with the promise of fake documents is just too much!

Here 'tis:

Dear James:

I am still waiting for the document I requested from you over 10 days ago. Is everything ok? Are you still in good health? May God bless you and keep you able to fulfill the obligations you promised to fulfill. Please send the document soon so that we can expedite the situation.

Thank you and may Christ be with you,
Jim

"Brother" James Okoba

I refer to him as brother, he begins to sign his name "Brother James Okoba." I think he likes that title, or at least catering to the bizarre religious conceptualizations of the social reality ingrained in "Jim Tankersley." Maybe I ought to tell him about that charming punk Mr. Raymond Mba trying to move in on James Okoba's territory. Or old Barrister Jim Swiss.

Note: He never mentions whether his phone number is still the same, per my request in the previous response.

Dear Mr. Jim,
I thank you very much for your prompt mail response to my message to you yesterday, I have noted your request, I will forward the indentification document you have just requested from me, but, I will appreciate you forward to me your full contact address and telephone and fax number's, together with your bank ccount information were this money will be transferred into so that I can submite same to the bank for the suick transfer into your nominated bank account.

Please Mr. Jim, I am promising you that you are not going to regrat what ever assistance you are goping to rander to me in this transaction, if there is the trust and understanding, I think we can work together and achive our aim. Believe me I am not a criminal. All I am requesting from you is just your parental help as you can see, I have no Father no Mother, my only Sister Juliet is late since three month's ago. Please Mr. Jim, fill free to do this business with me, be rest assured that you will not regrat doing business with me in life.
I am expecting your quick response and the required information's for the transfer of the money.

Thanks and may God Almighty bless you and your entire family.Regards,

Okoba Note

I wonder if Okoba is the name of a crime family or something. It probably means something in an African language like "I'm gonna screw you." When I Google "Okoba+scam" I get 49 results. "Okoba+419" returns 52 results. "Okoba+Fraud" returns 42 results.

My Response to James Okoba

Note: I got the phone number from a quick Google of Okoba. It came from Jennifer Okoba. James, Jennifer...what's the difference? Let's see if he/she acknowledges this number. Here it goes:

How wonderful to hear from you my brother in Christ! Is your telephone number still 00229 698074? I would like to contact you soon, but please send me some documentation of your identity so that I can know that you do indeed come in the name of the Lord our God and are not one of the criminals I hear about on television.

Thank you my brother, and God be with you,
Jim
